After 15 years of practicing Landscape Architecture and managing a large firm in Miami, Carolina Monteiro founded CLAD in 2017. CLAD’s landscape
architectural services range from terraces and private residences to boutique hotels and larger developments, with a strong focus on designs suited
specifically to meet the individual demands of each client.
CLAD focuses on designing timeless outdoor spaces with a seamless integration between architecture, landscape, and the surrounding site.
By using a controlled material palette, our completed gardens are calming, clean, simple, and sophisticated. In developing our designs, we pride
ourselves on our attention to detail: plant material textures and size, layered volumes, creation of focal points and elements of surprise, etc.
The firm also prioritizes functionality and simple maintenance. The garden design must suit the lifestyle and daily operating needs of the client. And,
maintaining the garden, must remain practical, so the client can just enjoy their outdoor spaces.
Carolina Monteiro is well known for her attention to detail and perfectionism. Having been raised by an architect father and landscape architect mother, Carolina followed their lead and was trained as an architect in São Paulo, Brazil where she lived until 2004, when she moved to Europe to launch her international career. The following year, Carolina moved to the USA, completed her Master’s in Landscape Architecture, and led an internationally known landscape architecture firm until 2017, when she founded CLAD. Since conception, CLAD has designed over 150 gardens, over half of which have already been successfully executed.
